Lattice was built by Richard Machemehl through MeSquared after repeatedly losing the first day of new projects to setup instead of product work.
Why It Exists
AI can generate code quickly, but projects still break when setup is inconsistent, dependencies drift, or assistants use the wrong assumptions. Lattice exists to make the initial architecture and guardrails explicit before code starts.
What It Delivers
Lattice Project Builder generates plans and setup packages for new software. Lattice Core adds version-aware instructions, verification, drift detection, and security workflows to existing repositories. Agent Setup Builder creates one personalized OpenClaw or Hermes setup with a guided, runtime-specific installer.
Who It Is For
Solo founders, indie developers, CS students, and self-hosted agent users who want to inspect the plan, generated files, security boundaries, and verification result instead of relying on an opaque one-click promise.
How Lattice Approaches AI-Assisted Development
Lattice treats AI coding as an engineering workflow, not a prompt-writing trick. The project blueprint records the product goal, architecture, stack choices, security boundaries, and verification commands before an assistant begins changing code.
For coding workflows, that context is written into repository files the supported assistants can read. For agent setups, Lattice generates runtime-specific files while provider and channel credentials stay in OpenClaw or Hermes official setup. In both cases, the customer can inspect what Lattice changes.
What Lattice Does and Does Not Do
Project Builder plans new web, mobile, and API projects. Core strengthens existing repositories. Agent Setup Builder personalizes either OpenClaw or Hermes and drives the supported setup and verification stages. Each product has its own pricing and entitlement.
Lattice does not replace code review, automated tests, security review, production monitoring, hosting, model-provider costs, credentials, custom integrations, or ongoing agent operation. It provides a stronger, reviewable starting point and reports only the setup stages that actually pass.
